Grammy Award-winning pop icon Rick Springfield reveals his lifelong battle with depression in a new memoir Late Late At Night. He calls his depression Mr. D and talks about him like its another person that’s been with him his whole life. On Good Morning America he talks very openly about his own suicide attempt and with all the teen suicides lately he wants to spread the message that life will change and get better so give it a year or two.

Although “Why” by country artists Rascal Flatts was released in the fall of 2009, I only heard it for the first time today and was tearing up in seconds. The lyrics, the music, the voice and the video are all very powerful on the subject of suicide and what its like to be a loved one left behind.

Hours ago the news broke that Andrew Koenig’s body was found in Vancouver’s Stanley Park and that a press conference will be held in the area he was found at 5pm PT. This is the news that no one wanted to hear still hoping Koenig decided to go on a solitary retreat and would be heard from soon. Sadly, that was not the case and all our fears were confirmed today.
